The focus of research in the Neuropsychology Laboratory centres around diagnostic validity in diverse neuropsychological conditions and the validity of clinical judgements. In addition to student research and nationally funded projects, several research programs are pursued through international collaborations, including -
- The Psychological Corporation Australia and New Zealand on the equivalence of cognitive ability in Australia and the United States.
- The Psychological Corporation San Antonio Texas on the generality of models of cognition in adults and children. These collaborations, involves many individual projects in community and clinical samples.
- Howard Garb Ph.D., US Air Force Wilford Hall Medical Centre, Texas and Arthur Shores Ph.D, Macquarie University, Sydney on the validity of neuropsychological assessment.
- Noel Gregg Ph.D., University of Georgia, on the structure of cognition in people with learning difficulties.
- Rael Lange Ph.D, and colleagues at the Riverview Hospital, British Columbia on measurement of cognition in Canada

- Wernicke-Korsakoff syndrome
- Generality of models of cognition in community samples, and in people with diverse neuropsychological conditions.
